WW2 Facts

April 21st, 2015 · 1 Comment · Uncategorized

WW2 is the most violent/epic-est place in history. I think there were some pretty cool armory and I, for a fact, would like to be an Army cadet when I’m older. Tens of millions of people died in WW2 because of bombing or shooting. Gas masks were CRITICAL because when worn, civilians are free to breathe in gas. Kids had special Mickey Mouse Gas Masks. In WW2 Gas chambers killed SOOOO many people in WW2, they pretended you were going in a shower but you were actually going in a Gas Chamber where you died of poisonous gas! Torture, ain’t it? How would you feel if you died in a war of great history and tragic-ness?

World War Two
1939 – 1945
Remembrance Day

For almost six years from 1939 to 1945 Britain fought the toughest war it had ever experienced. World War II was total war – every person, every business, every service was involved.

Soldier Britain did not fight alone, the war also involved many countries. World War II involved 61 countries with 1.7 billion people (three quarters of the world’s population.
The Axis and the Allies
What were the two sides in World War Two?
The war was fought chiefly between two major alliances. Eventually Germany surrendered.

An air raid was an attack by enemy planes dropping bombs.

There were no supermarkets. You went to different shops for different items.

Many houses had windows stuck over with paper tape.

Tape across the windows stopped the glass shattering into thousands of pieces, and causing injuries.

In the war the people did something called rationing.

Soldiers came and put people in concentration camps and poisoned them.
